And so it begins
If there is one thing I have learned about reading it is if you fail to plan to read, you will always be too busy.
As Harbor is finishing up his lower grades at Blanchester Local Schools and getting ready to attack high school, I'm worried we haven't laid enough ground work. Has he been exposed to enough knowledge, culture, and ultimately, literature? I don't know but I'm afraid not. Will he be exposed to enough in the next four years to prepare him for the rigors of testing and not only getting into post secondary school, but being successful there? I plan to make sure of it.
Harbor and I have decided to make a list of books he wants to read before graduating high school.
Ok well I told Harbor he needs to make a list of classic or at least literary reads he wants to read before graduating high school and he agreed. He isn't a big fiction reader but he does read quite a bit with school, online, magazines having to do with hunting and fishing and such, and he used to like to read about science. But now that he is older, time is precious and there are many distractions. It is time to make a plan to read.
So here's the list.....
